Advon Technologies has conducted the research.   When we speak about technology used in the meetings industry, we speak in a collective voice. Show managers, meeting planners, IT staff, executive directors, sales representatives, CEO’s and just about anyone involved in the review, selection and execution of technology for events meetings and shows.  Don’t take our word for it – take the word of hundreds of professionals who live with the decisions they make on technology that impacts them – good and bad – every day.

As the provider of meeting technology intelligence, we are challenged to stay aware of new and innovative products and services offered by vendors.  With over 500 hundred interviews of trade show managers, associations executives and meeting professionals, we have generated case studies about the highlights and pitfalls of innovation in the chaotic world of a show floor or conference room.  We are the source for the most relevant, current, and credible research regarding technology tools in the meetings industry.  Our evaluation of these tools is mapped back to an event business processes (EBP) model so that decision makers can make educated choices and define a strategic direction for their organization based on fact, not intuition.

Current Reports
Match Making – Just as personal matchmaking benefited from the application of software to organize relationship introductions, these tools have demonstrated value by creating algorithms that enhance the interactions of attendees, exhibitors and even content.  As the best example of a tool that can significantly impact an organization’s sales cycle during the lead generation stages, business matchmaking has arrived.

RFID – Whether short range or long range technology is in place, radio frequency identification tools hold much promise to the future of non-intrusive data capture techniques.  Price and privacy concerns keep this sizzling innovation from wide-spread adoption, but RFID offers the promise to deliver the next generation solutions.

Registration – Next to decorators, registration vendors provide the most critical services to the meeting industry.  Full service registration providers deliver complex, high dollar solutions that are often rewarded with lucrative lead retrieval contracts.  With the introduction of online registration tools that can efficiently process registrants without staff involvement, low cost online tools have gained considerable market acceptance.   However, with over 150 vendors competing in a saturated marketplace, the next few years will see some significant changes.
